Description:

1) Apply your knowledge of reading analysis (using a running-record) and writing analysis (using a writing sample) to identify what a child knows and can do and, in response, to make ‘where-to-next’ planning decisions.

2) Write two succinct 750 word essays on the importance of reading and writing within the literacy programme for children in the junior school, Y1-4. Discussion and justification should include reference to The N.Z. Curriculum (2007), other Ministry of Education documents, resources and course readings.

b) How do teachers support their students as they progress through the iterative stages of the writing process?
